Celtic Shadows

Split toning tab is a process where you divide an image in to two halves and then apply a colour to each of those sections. It’s a great way to produce creative effects when you apply colour theory such as blending blue shadows with yellow highlights resulting in colour vibrancy. In essence this is a very simple tab to use and there’s not much to cover.

Split Toning is split into three sections, Highlights, Balance and Shadows. Each is pretty self-explanatory with highlights cover the whites and upper mid-tones, shadows the lower mid-tones and shadows and the Balance slider controls where the mid-point occurs. The Split Toning Tab

In the Highlights and Shadow sections you also have a saturation slider this is for giving you control over how strong the effect is applied to the image for a subtle tonal adjustment or to a more dramatic effect.

Split tonight is best applied to monochrome images but also can create a simple cross-process effect out of the convertor but this can be tricky to achieve with some images. The main problem for me is that I prefer finer control over what the Balance slider gives me to achieve this effect.
